Handphone Nokia

Teresa Telenovela - How do you make a winning product? Take something that has stood through the test of time, give it a nice make-over, throw in and out a few features here and there, and drop the pricing down to an affordable level. That's what seems to be Nokia's strategy with their new C3, C6 and E5 models. Let's start with the Nokia E5 for instance. Take a close look at the specifications, it matches closely to Nokia's currently flagship E series champ -- the E72. But look at the pricing -- 180 Euros converted to INR is roughly Rs. 10,900. That's almost half as much as what the E72 costs right now!

Next -- the C6. Its specs resemble the Nokia N97 mini. The good thing is that the C6 has much bigger and what seems to be comfortable QWERTY keys. It sells for Rs. 13,300 -- again a lot less than the N97 mini. Lastly, the cheaper C3 looks like a toned down version of the E63. But the Series 40 interface (as compared to E63's Symbian smartphone OS) would be the major differentiating factor between the two. It's quoted to be sold at Rs. 5000, half of the E63's current price.

But all three phones have one thing in common -- they are strong on social networking. It wasn't enough when Microsoft announced their 'kin' social networking phones the day before. This sudden surge to create social-phones is possibly to fight back brands like Micromax and INQ invading this space with their sub-Rs.10k so-called social networking phones. Most of these are just basic phones with apps like Nimbuzz, Twitter and Facebook pre-installed. The real trick is when you integrate social networking as part of the OS to make it a seamless experience -- which we hope Nokia has accomplished with the phones mentioned above.

I'm pretty sure other manufacturers are going to follow this trend soon -- if they aren't doing it already. But do you think these social phones are just a fad? Do you feel they are just refreshed old phones with a new marketing strategy? Will they last? I feel that with the way digital socializing is increasing by leaps and bounds, these could be the right tools for people who don't want to spend a lot of money on cell-phones.

Mobile Phone To Mobile Computer

Triunfo Del Amor- With the current mobile phone market in the UK reaching an all time high there seems to be a multitude of handsets on the market. New and updated models hit the market at a rate of around 4-5 per month. Many features seem to bundled into these phones as standard and the costs of making them has soared to the point that many of the mobile phone networks in the UK are now pushing for 18 month contracts to reduce the cost impact. Phone manufacturers are now having to make a choice between producing a handset that covers all the bases at a respectable level to those handsets designed to do an outstanding job in one particular area for a more specific user. How many times have you heard someone tell you that they don’t use their camera, multi media messaging (MMS) or that they never listen to the radio function.

No sooner had the general public become accustomed to getting all this extra functionality from their phone, along comes 3G (3rd Generation) with it’s ability to offer mobile to mobile video calling and better access to internet resources it was almost certainly going to be a hit. The first real push in the 3G market in the UK came from a company who were specifically targeting this new generation of phones, aptly names Three.

A mobile without a camera these days is considered old and out of date, they are getting better and better the number of mega pixels (the higher the number the better quality picture you can take) seems to be getting larger each month and with it the storage capacity increases to cover the larger overheads. Very few models available in the market today are without the now “standard” features of a camera, sound recorder, alarm, internet browser and of course the much loved games. These days with the addition of “organiser” functions like calendars, task management and of course your “contacts” people rely more and more on their mobile.

For those people who are into music then Sony Ericson have released their “Walkman” phone W810i with a built in MP3 Player and fantastic handset design, or the W850 which also includes two way video calling.

Mobile phones are becoming more and more like a computer, with internet access, the ability to surf the web and pick up your emails, organise your diary and even the addition of instant messengers you really can hold your life in the palm of your hand.

If you want to take a look at what is on offer for the latest handsets and some of the best tariffs available on all the UK’s major networks please visit - www.bestmobilesolutions.co.uk
